Once upon a time there lived a wicked goblin …
Once upon a time there lived a wicked goblin who built a magic mirror. Anything that was beautiful or good was reflected in it as ugly and bad. One day, the mirror broke and all its pieces fell all over the earth. A few pieces also fell in a small town where two friends named Kay and Gerda lived… So begins the story of The Snow Queen, an original fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). The story centres on the struggle between good and evil and is one of Andersen’s longest and most highly acclaimed stories. The Snow Queen was the source of inspiration for this new digital scrapbooking collection – as a child I was fascinated by this story and I’ve been wanting to make a kit about it for a long time, so here it is!
BIG CONGRATS to Sharon Brogan for winning the entire collection. If you missed the game on our Facebook fanpage, make sure you become a member, here’s the link.
The magic of a landscape beneath a white blanket, the light of a thousand diamonds when the sun touches the snow, frosty leaves and ice cold air, all that beauty of a winter’s day is captured in A Winter’s Tale. A colour scheme of blues, whites, greys, pinks and some silvery accents, a paper made from real reindeer skin, snowflakes that look like they were made of real snow (but that do not melt on your pages), frosted flowers and leaves, gorgeous vintage stamps (some of them come from a 1922’s book of The Snow Queen, with the original Edmund Dulac illustrations), paint, a set of wintery transfers… the perfect embellishments for all your wintery outdoor pictures!
Creative Team member Jana takes you on a winter’s walk through the collection and is sharing a few tips on how to use the transfers in this awesome video:
