Somewhere in time
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction and fantasy featuring advanced machines and other technology based on steam power of the 19th century – more specifically the Victorian era – and taking place in a recognizable historical period or a fantasy world. I’ve always loved Steampunk but I never really made anything in that style. So when Scrapaneers asked me if I wanted to design a kit in Steampunk style, I didn’t hesitat: Somewhere In Time was born.
We measure time in hours, minutes, seconds, days, months, years… But we all experience time in a different way. There are even some that say that time is only an illusion and nothing more than a concept. Somewhere In Time was inspired by this beautiful quote from Bram Stoker in ‘Dracula’: Do you believe in destiny? That even the powers of time can be altered for a single purpose? Designed in steampunk style, using a rich but muted color scheme with tones of green and blue, sepia and wine red, industrial and distressed textures versus romantic Victorian patterns and lace, cogs, various metal and clock parts, vintage ephemera versus artsy bits and bobs, it is perfect for any romantic, fantasy or heritage project.
