Moon Child

Creating a collection with a color scheme that is given to you without a specific theme behind it, is not easy. Well, at least not for me. So it was again with the colors for the September Berry Big Deals. If you didn’t now, the Berry Big Deals is a monthly event at Pickleberrypop where the designers have to work with a color swatch that is presented to them, and they must use at least 4 swatches from the palette. The designs are then released with huge savings for three days only.

When I started brainstorming on the September colors, I spent at least two weeks thinking of a theme. I started with Indian Summer, then Gypsy/Boho and finally I ended up with Moon Child. Celestial themes ARE my favorite themes. There are some designers who can design without a theme, they start with generic embellishments, but that doesn’t work for me, I really need a theme. Once I get started, as I grow into the theme, there is always a point where I have to tell myself to stop, that is why some of my collections are quite large, or why my embellishment packs have so many embellishments in them. I always compare myself to a diesel, LOL.
