Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags

A set of 6 gorgeous shabby, vintage and textured mermaid and nymphs tags, created with images from old paintings.

Mermaids are legendary aquatic creatures with the head and upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish. Sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks and drownings… In other traditions they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans. Mermaids have been a popular subject of art and literature and they have subsequently been depicted in operas, paintings, books, films and comics.

Nymphs are a numerous class of lesser deities of mythology, conceived of as beautiful maidens inhabiting the sea, rivers, woods, trees, mountains, meadows, etc., and frequently mentioned as attending a superior deity.

Use these tags in your digital scrapbooking or art journaling layouts, or print them for your hybrid projects, for art journaling, for gift tags and so on. I have included a sheet for easy printing. Each tag measures 2.4 x 4.09 in, or 6 x 10,3 cm. You will receive 6 hi res PNG files and a printable sheet in JPG and PDF.

Some inspiration for you from my creative team

First up is this fantastic page from Barbara. She combined one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 with two of the Sea Creatures Flairs. She also used one of my Whimsical Templates Vol03, and bits and pieces from various On A Whimsical Adventure packs (Wonderland, Things To Do In The Garden).

Next page is from Jen Maddocks. She used one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 with some of the Sea Creatures Flairs and then some things from Mermaids (and a few things of her own packs).

Ona combined all three packs in this artsy layout. She also used some things from Mermaids.

Zeneva used a gorgeous picture from her kids on this layout - I love the light! She combined all three packs on her layout and she added a few things from Number One Dad, Wanderlust and Hippie Spirit.

On this page I used one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 Beach, one of the Sea Creatures Flairs, and a bit of Easter Morning and Hippie Spirit.

On this second page I combined one of the Scenic Papers Vol01, three of the Sea Creatures Flairs and one of the Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags with a (recoloured) wire from Mermaids. I took some layers from one of Heartstrings Scrap Arts ‘The Bigger Picture #4’ to blend it all together. The picture is from Unsplash.

I’m still just a tiny little bit in vacation mode after our trip to France last week, but I’m getting there. I’m working on a few new commercial use packs for Digital Scrapbooking Studio’s Commercial Use Grab Bag Gala next week (more about that later) and… today is the reveal of Wanderlust, The Studio’s new Coordinated Collection! Have to admit, the colour scheme did not appeal to me at first… not the colours I would have picked. But once I got started, they sort of grew on me and I am very proud at how my part turned out.
Wanderlust will help you document all those wonderful memories and travel stories: the places you’ve seen, the people you’ve met… The muted colour palette of lilacs,greens and neutrals will allow your pictures and stories to shine. The colours will look especially great with pictures of the great outdoors: lavender fields, woods and mountains. Old maps, vintage lavender, handdrawn illustrations and damask were used to create the coordinating patterns. You will absolutely love the amazing set of mixed media papers - these will look fabulous printed and used as backgrounds for art journaling, paper crafting and card making. Wanderlust Transfers

A huge collab, four times a year, one colour scheme… That is generally the idea of the Coordinated Collections formula at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.

Today is reveal day for the Coordinated Collection for Spring 2016, ‘Rainbow Bright’! All the packs are on sale for just $1, for two weeks. Bundles are for sale for the price of the number of packs, so a bundle with 6 packs (like mine) is just $6 (unbelievable, isn’t it?). You really have to go check it out, the contributions of the Studio Designers are seriously amazing. I already have a few things on my wishlist!

I’m joining the party for the first time since I came to The Studio. ‘Rainbow Bright’ didn’t seem like a fitting title for my packs, because I focused on the ‘Spring’ theme, therefore I have named my packs ‘Spring Fever’.

Layout inspiration

Ange has combined the Spring Fever Collection with one of my Whimsical Templates Vol.02 and I absolutely love the effect of the blended papers! Ange has used a few extras from my My One True Love Collection (the butterfly and some paint).

Another gorgeous page by Ange, using only the Spring Fever Collection.

A gorgeous white space layout from Guest Creative Team member Barbara. I love the strip of patterned paper on top and the cute cluster in the bottom right corner. Barbara has combined the Spring Fever Collection with a few bits and pieces from my Castles & Princesses Collection.

A gorgeous page by the lovely Em! Em has also used my Stitched Shapes Vol.01 and some goodies from my Fly Me To The Moon Collection. I especially love how well the silver leaf from Fly Me To The Moon works with the rest of the page and the stitched rectangle behind the picture adds an interesting detail, without being too prominently present.

Creative Team member Erin created this splash of spring fever by using one of my Whimsical Templates Vol.02 and combining it with the Spring Fever Collection. I love all the blending and there is so much to look at. That picture is amazing too and it is perfect for this page.

A beautiful ‘out of the box thinking’ composition by Creative Team member Eszter! So much to look at in this page, she has also used a vintage bird ephemera from the Easter Morning Elements.

Jen Maddocks is a fellow designer at The Studio and she is a dear friend to me. I have been a member of her Creative Team for years and when she has a moment to spare, she makes an amazing page with my stuff. I totally love this very creative page of her using my Spring Fever Collection. I especially love the effect on the word ‘Rainbow’ and the rainbow picture in her page is truly mesmerizing. I also love how she has created a ‘flower border’ at the bottom of the page. I think she has used all of five Spring Fever Transfers here.

A gorgeous page from Creative Team member Judith. She has used one of my Whimsical Templates Vol.02 and a flower and a brad from my Castles & Princesses Kit. I love the watercolour effect she has created on her pictures!

Sometimes my Creative Team members are spoiling me with more than one page LOL, like Judith (and Ange, at the top of this post). This wonderful page by Judith uses the Spring Fever Collection with one of the Stitched Shapes Vol.01 and a button from Wonderland. Again, what a lovely effect on her picture. It works so well with the papers that she has chosen.

Ona has recently retired and she told me that she loves working in the garden. I’m not sure if this is her house or garden, but I would LOVE to have this kind of front garden. I love the pops of red and orange in this layout! Next to the Spring Fever Collection she has also used one of my Whimsical Templates Vol. 02, a leaf from My One True Love and a flower from my Among The Shadows kit.
