My first official Creative Team Call

1

How exciting is this - my very first creative team call! I’ve been designing for about a year now, and I started with no team at all while I was selling on Etsy. One year later, I have four stores and I have a wonderful creative team already, but I could use a few more members, maybe someone like you?

What I am looking for most of all

Most of all I need a few more motivated, creative, and committed members with a sound knowledge of Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements or any other photo editing program). Digital artists, hybrid scrappers, art journalers, pocket scrappers are all welcome to apply. I love a variety of styles because that will show the diversity of my designs.

Do you love my designs? Can you create a gorgeous layout on a relatively short notice (I try to give my team enough time to create, but sometimes I also have last minute requests)? Are you willing to actively promote my products in various Facebook groups and open galleries?

Then you might be the one I’m looking for!

Detailed requirements:

  • scrap with every new release (sometimes I have 4 releases a month, sometimes less) - if you are a hybrid or pocket scrapper: 2 pages per month;
  • be able to scrap with my full kits/bundles and other products like templates, separate packs (paperpacks, frame packs and so on);
  • showcase my designs in both an eye catching and unique way ; work with sharp, high quality photos;
  • post your layouts to my galleries at Digital Scrapbooking Studio and The Digichick (sites + Facebook groups), my Pinterest board, and at least three more galleries of your choice;
  • help me promote my designs on social media (share ads, news etc.);
  • participate in a monthly challenge every now and then (not mandatory, though very much appreciated);
  • be an active member in the private On A Whimsical Adventure Team Facebook group, that is visit the Facebook group on a regular basis to follow up on new releases and other questions;
  • have tons of fun!

If all this sounds good to you, then by all means, apply!

  • Tell me who you are! Give me your real name (and your forum name) and tell me a little bit about you.
  • How long have you been scrapping and what program do you use?
  • What is your most updated and recent gallery?
  • What other galleries do you post to? Are you active on social media? Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram?
  • What other teams are you on?
  • Do you have a blog? Can you send me a link?
  • Do you think you have the time to be a committed member of my team? Why do you think you would be a great fit?

This is what you will get in return:

  • Complete access to all my (personal use) products;
  • Your layouts featured in my shop, my blog and my Facebook fanpage;

I cannot wait to hear from you!

Send your application to [email protected]
before August 15th.

Good luck!

P.S. I’ll take guest spots as well. You could start as a guest for two or three months and decide if you want to stay after your guest period.

Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags

A set of 6 gorgeous shabby, vintage and textured mermaid and nymphs tags, created with images from old paintings.

Mermaids are legendary aquatic creatures with the head and upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish. Sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks and drownings… In other traditions they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans. Mermaids have been a popular subject of art and literature and they have subsequently been depicted in operas, paintings, books, films and comics.

Nymphs are a numerous class of lesser deities of mythology, conceived of as beautiful maidens inhabiting the sea, rivers, woods, trees, mountains, meadows, etc., and frequently mentioned as attending a superior deity.

Use these tags in your digital scrapbooking or art journaling layouts, or print them for your hybrid projects, for art journaling, for gift tags and so on. I have included a sheet for easy printing. Each tag measures 2.4 x 4.09 in, or 6 x 10,3 cm. You will receive 6 hi res PNG files and a printable sheet in JPG and PDF.

Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags are discounted for a week.

Some inspiration for you from my creative team

First up is this fantastic page from Barbara. She combined one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 with two of the Sea Creatures Flairs. She also used one of my Whimsical Templates Vol03, and bits and pieces from various On A Whimsical Adventure packs (Wonderland, Things To Do In The Garden).

Next page is from Jen Maddocks. She used one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 with some of the Sea Creatures Flairs and then some things from Mermaids (and a few things of her own packs).

Ona combined all three packs in this artsy layout. She also used some things from Mermaids.

Zeneva used a gorgeous picture from her kids on this layout - I love the light! She combined all three packs on her layout and she added a few things from Number One Dad, Wanderlust and Hippie Spirit.

And two pages from me…

On this page I used one of the Scenic Papers Vol01 Beach, one of the Sea Creatures Flairs, and a bit of Easter Morning and Hippie Spirit.

On this second page I combined one of the Scenic Papers Vol01, three of the Sea Creatures Flairs and one of the Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags with a (recoloured) wire from Mermaids. I took some layers from one of Heartstrings Scrap Arts ‘The Bigger Picture #4’ to blend it all together. The picture is from Unsplash.

Commercial Use Grab Bag Gala

0

If you were ever looking for some deals, then now is DEFINITELY the time - it’s Commercial Use Grab Bag Gala at Digital Scrapbooking Studio! From July 22 thru 28 you can grab yourself some amazing never before released commercial use products, for just $1 per pack.

I am offering you no less than 9 brand new commercial use packs - 6 packs in a grab bag of my own, and 3 more packs in a paint themed grab bag that I’m sharing with The Urban Fairy. Let’s get down to the details!

Included in this grab bag are:

Included in this pack are 9 nautical themed charms in their original colours. The size of the PNG’s is the actual size - the smallest charm is 0.37 x 0.473 in (0,94 x 1,2 cm) and the largest charm is 0.663 x 1.18 in (1,68 x 3 cm). You will receive 9 PNG files, including: 1 crab, 5 fishes, 1 seahorse, 1 shell, 1 starfish and 1 turtle.

This set contains 12 gorgeous buttons in shiny, pearly, creamy or metallic tones.

This pack contains 5 dried wildflowers and 1 dried leaf, gathered during my latest vacation in France, in their original colours and actual size. You will receive 6 PNG files, including: 2 dried poppies, 1 dried camomille, 2 dried blue cornflowers and 1 leaf.

This pack contains 10 travel/outdoors themed elements. You will receive 10 PNG files, including: 1 bird charm, 1 Eiffeltower charm, 1 vintage Paris postcard, front and back, 1 vintage London postcard, front and back, 1 vintage stamp, 1 wildflower, 1 wooden mini road sign, 1 floral shaped button.

Included in this pack are 6 vintage maps. Each map comes in two sizes: in a 12×12 inch version and in a 8,5×11 inch version (you will receive 12 JPGs in total). They were scanned from an old geography school book (dated 1938).

Here are 6 watercolour overlays, digitized and edited for maximum quality! Use these to make your own realistic looking painted papers. Play with blend modes and opacities for surprising results.

These 6 packs have a total value of $32.94 and you can grab them all for just $6!

Next to my own grab bag, I’m also sharing a grab bag with The Urban Fairy. We both love paint and so we created a Paint Effect grab bag for you:

Here are my three packs:

This set contains 20 rounds that were hand crafted by me using a wine cork and black acrylic paint, hence the great organic texture! The size of the PNG’s is the actual size - an average of 295 x 295 px. The brushes are nearly twice as large so you have more flexibility (the rounds were scanned at 600 dpi). You will receive 20 PNG files and 1 ABR file.

This set contains 15 grungy circles that were hand crafted by me using a circular cardboard form and black acrylic paint. The size of the PNG’s is the actual size - an average of 1050 x 1050 px. The brushes are nearly twice as large so you have more flexibility (the circles were scanned at 600 dpi). You will receive 15 PNG files and 1 ABR file.

This set contains 15 drips and splatters that were hand crafted by me using black acrylic paint. The average size of these splatters is 2485 px. You will receive 15 PNG files and 1 ABR file.

Both Grab Bags are exclusive to The Studio from July 22-28. After that, all my packs will be separately available in my other shops and they will go back to their normal pricing. Don’t miss this deal!

This incredible deal is perfect if you are not a designer, or have no need for commercial use packs. Grab the deal and use the packs for your personal use projects, to liven up your digital scrapbooking or art journaling layouts.

Wanderlust

0

I’m still just a tiny little bit in vacation mode after our trip to France last week, but I’m getting there. I’m working on a few new commercial use packs for Digital Scrapbooking Studio’s Commercial Use Grab Bag Gala next week (more about that later) and… today is the reveal of Wanderlust, The Studio’s new Coordinated Collection! Have to admit, the colour scheme did not appeal to me at first… not the colours I would have picked. But once I got started, they sort of grew on me and I am very proud at how my part turned out.
Wanderlust will help you document all those wonderful memories and travel stories: the places you’ve seen, the people you’ve met… The muted colour palette of lilacs,greens and neutrals will allow your pictures and stories to shine. The colours will look especially great with pictures of the great outdoors: lavender fields, woods and mountains. Old maps, vintage lavender, handdrawn illustrations and damask were used to create the coordinating patterns. You will absolutely love the amazing set of mixed media papers - these will look fabulous printed and used as backgrounds for art journaling, paper crafting and card making. Wooden embellishments like arrows and word art, vintage ephemera, stamps and transfers, lots of travel themed illustrations, journal cards and a gorgeous set of layered frames are the icing on the cake.

What’s even better is that you can grab each pack for just $1. Yep, just $1, for a limited time only though. This deal ends July 28 and is exclusive to Digital Scrapbooking Studio for that time. After that, I’ll add Wanderlust to my other shops and the price will go back to normal.
Let me show you the previews!

Wanderlust Elements

This elements pack must be the biggest elements pack I’ve ever designed. You will receive 80 PNG files, including: 3 wooden arrows, 5 illustrated badges, 1 blank badge, 1 wooden bicycle, 1 vintage binoculars image, in a plain and a sticker version, 1 vintage binoculars stamp, 1 wooden bird, 3 brads, 1 paper butterfly, 3 buttons, 1 Eiffeltower charm, 1 clouds doodle, 3 paper clouds, 3 stitched clouds, 1 filmstrip frame + 4 masks, 1 dried flower, 1 wildflower, 2 vintage flower images, 2 fabric flowers, 1 paper flower, 2 flower stamps, 1 mixed media branch, 1 vintage foliage image, 1 leaf, 1 slide frame, 1 frame with stamp edging, 1 gemstone, 1 vintage globe stamp, 1 journaling lines stamp, 1 piece of lace, 1 magnet with a vintage airplane image, 1 large paint stroke, 1 vintage postcard ‘Paris’, 5 leather pins, 2 ribbons, 1 wooden road sign, 2 vintage stamps, 1 staple (in a shadowed and non-shadowed version), 1 stitching, 2 blank tickets, 1 vintage tourists stamp, 1 vintage suitcase blend, 1 vintage suitcase stamp, 2 vintage images of a girl and a boy on a bike, 1 vintage label, 1 vintage dictionary cut out, 8 vintage stamps with words, postcard stamps and a Jules Verne book title.

I’m bàck!

1

Hi everyone! Wherever you are, I hope you are having a wonderful time and maybe enjoying some time off. I have been away for a week, to a gorgeous little village in France, with limited access to my e-mails and it was really healing to get away from technology. No Facebook, no Instagram, no Pinterest… I did check my e-mails on my phone, but only twice because the wifi in the house that we rented was very weak.

I have to admit, I’m still adjusting to normal life and it’s not so easy to get back to designing. But I’ve been scrapping, editing my pictures, and I’ve done some necessary administrative work. I do have a large collection coming up later this week, here’s the sneak peek I shared about two weeks ago:

This collection is my contribution to The Studio’s new Coordinated Collection and it’s all about travelling, exploring the world… Well I’m still in travel mode, let me show you some pictures from the very beautiful Burgundy region in France that we visited last week:

Flavigny-sur-Ozerain

This is one of France’s most beautiful villages. Flavigny is the sole producer of the anise-flavored candy Anise de Flavigny, which was first manufactured by the monks. We visited the lovely museum.

Lots and lots of different anis-flavored candies, in so many different combinations… all for us to taste.

I’m loving these vintage ads on the wall!

Too funny (my daughter and my husband making fun)

I love the messages on the window of this very charming house.

We hardly see any blue cornflowers in Belgium anymore. But in Burgundy (and in Flavigny) there are so many!

My daughter - watch the gorgeous scenery behind her.

L’Abbaye de Fontenay

The Abbey of Fontenay was founded by Saint Bernard in 1118. It is one of the oldest Cistercian abbeys which branched out from the original monastery of the order, Citeaux, itself founded in 1098. Today the Abbey of Fontenay, which still belongs to the Aynard family, is classed as a world heritage site by Unesco.

The abbey church - looking towards the door.

The cloisters are the very heart of the monestary. This is where the monks would have read and carried out their practical tasks. The four galleries which enclose the interior courtyard make up a rectangle of 36 by 38 metres.

This large building (53 by 13,5 metres) was built by the monks towards the end of the 12th century. The ironmonger monks of Fontenay developed industrial plants, which produced tools, that were very well-known and were served at the table of the Dukes of Burgundy.

Driving back to the gîte, we just had to stop and take some pictures in this field with blue cornflowers.

Following the Owl’s Trail in Dijon

In Dijon we followed the Owl’s Trail, a 22-stage trail, designed not only to give you a taste of Dijon’s charm, but also to take you back in time and show you the history of the town. This walk through the city was accompanied by a very helpful booklet - almost as good as having our personal guide!

Over the centuries this owl has become a good luck charm for passers-by. You have to rub it with the left hand (the hand close to the heart) and make a wish (yes, I made a wish!).

This place was used as decor for ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’, a movie with Gérard Depardieu.

Gorgeous mosaic tiling on the roofs - witnesses of Dijon’s wealthy history.

‘Place de la Libération’ - a semicircular square designed in 1685 - in front of the palace of the dukes of Burgundy (that is now the Fine Arts Museum of Dijon). One of the most beautiful royal squares in France

Beaune and pizza’s

Beaune is one of the most beautiful towns in France. Unfortunately we left too late to really walk through it, but we managed to visit the Hospices de Beaune, founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor. The original hospital building, the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century architecture, is now a museum. After our visit, we are having pizza!

In front of the museum, ready to start our visit.

The museum owns a remarkable artwork: The Last Judgement Polyptych . It was painted by the Flemish artist Rogier van der Weyden in the 15th century.

Dinner! This pizzeria was advised to us by our hostess and yes, the pizza’s are soooooooooooo yummy. It does look weird, doesn’t it? It’s a tiny take-away pizzeria but you can eat there, either in a room where the ceiling is so low that even I could touch it, or in the picnic area outside. We preferred the picnic area 😀

Marché Nocturne in Semur-en-Auxois

It’s our last day in France. We are packing and relaxing the rest of the day and in the evening we drive to Semur-en-Auxois, a painterly village, with a gorgeous medieval core, built on a pink granite rock. There is a ‘Marché Nocturne’, a nocturnal market with music, entertainment, and lots of local dealers offering their merchandise.

Driving back to the gîte - Burgundy in the light of the evening sun…
