Winter

Cheers to a new year!

0

I wish you all a fabulous 2018. I hope all your dreams (well, some at least) will come true.

At least one of my dreams has come true: last Thursday we bought a house! It’s not our dream home yet, it needs a lot of work, but the space and the potential are there.

I still feel a little overwhelmed, and with all the festivities of the past few days, it felt like my days were just too short and it was hard to focus on work, but I did manage to get some things done. Here’s an update:

A Winter’s Tale - re-release at Oscraps

‘A Winter’s Tale’ is a digital scrapbooking collection inspired by the story of The Snow Queen (my favourite fairytale!). The magic of a landscape beneath a white blanket, the light of a thousand diamonds when the sun touches the snow, frosty leaves and ice cold air, all that beauty of a winter’s day is captured in ‘A Winter’s Tale’. A colour scheme of blues, whites, greys, pinks and a few silvery accents, a paper made from real reindeer skin, snowflakes that look like they were made of real snow (except they do not melt on your pages), frosted flowers and leaves, gorgeous vintage stamps (some of them come from a 1922’s book of The Snow Queen, with the original Edmund Dulac illustrations), paint, a set of wintery transfers… the perfect collection for all your wintery outdoor pictures!

A Winter’s Tale Bundle

Save when you buy the bundle! Included are A Winter’s Tale Kit, Journal Cards, Snowflakes and Transfers.

Available here: Etsy | Oscraps | Coming soon at Scrap Girls

A Winter’s Tale Kit

Included in the kit are: 12 solid papers (12 JPG files 12 x 12 in), 16 pattern papers (16 JPG files 12 x 12 in), 2 alphas and 75 embellishments (75 PNG files): 1 antler, 3 brads, 2 branches, 3 buttons, 1 crown, 1 fastener, 2 flower cabochons, 1 flower bead, 1 fabric flower, 1 frosty flower, 2 paper flowers, 3 composite flowers, 3 frames, 1 gesso, 1 frosty leaf + stem, 2 frosty leaves, 1 light, 1 ornamental border, 3 paints, 1 glittery pinecone, 4 puzzle pieces, 1 reindeer label, 1 lace ribbon, 1 twine, 1 sequins scatter, 1 silver snowflake charm, 2 snowflake scatters (in a shadowed and a non-shadowed version), 3 stitched snowflakes, 2 wooden snowflakes, 1 snowflake, 2 stamps, 1 compass, 1 storybook illustration (Gerda and the reindeer, in a plain and in a sticker version), 2 tags, 1 glitter pinetree, 1 vintage owl, 6 vintage stamps, 5 words, and 5 wordstrips.

A Winter’s Tale Snowflakes

These snowflakes look like they were made of real snow (except they do not melt on your pages), and there’s a glitter version of each snowflake too. You will receive 2 x 12 PNG files.

A Winter’s Tale Transfers

Here’s some inspiration from the creative team and from my personal photo book:

Scenic Papers Vol.2 ‘A Snowy Day’ - Re-release at Oscraps

It’s a wonderful combination, bare trees and sunlight on a snowy winter day… The light in the trees looks like fairy lights! These papers were created from pictures that I took on a snowy day. Mix and match these papers in your digital scrapbooking, art journaling, card making and paper craft projects. Print and frame them and use as winter decor - I added a printable letter size version of the papers. Or use them as overlays, play with blend modes and opacities for surprising results!

Available here: Etsy | Oscraps | Coming soon at Scrap Girls

Creative team member Jana combined these papers with A Winter’s Tale, and I love the result:

Winter Wonderland Party Pack - New at Scrap Girls and in my Etsy shop
Coming soon at Oscraps

The ‘Winter Wonderland’ party pack is filled with nostalgic and naive images of children having fun in the snow, delicate patterns, snowflakes and a touch of glitter. The editable party invitation, treat bag toppers and party banner, cute tickets and cupcake toppers, DIY washi tape and fun gift bows are good for hours of DIY fun. Whether you are organizing a baby shower, a birthday party for your kids, or just a cozy winter gathering, these party decorations will make it just perfect!

This banner was designed to coordinate with the ‘Winter Wonderland’ party pack. It comes in a pink and a blue version. All letters and numbers are included, so you can make your own banner.

These gift bows are super easy to assemble, I’ve included instructions in the ZIP files.

Fun circular labels, that you can use as cupcake toppers, or gift labels, or as items in your digital projects.

Use these letter size papers as gift wrapping paper for small gifts, or for cards and other paper projects. Or, use them in your scrapbooking projects. They are letter size, which means that you can easily print these!

This party invitation has a front and a back, and both are layered, so you can customize the text; information about the fonts used is included in the ZIP files.

These cute printable tickets can be added to the party invitation when you invite your guests, to organize a raffle at the party. Or, use them to add a fun detail to any paper or digital project you are working on!

Available here: Etsy | Scrap Girls

Make your own washi tape with these ready-to-print paper strips! I found this tutorial at The Graphics Fairy https://thegraphicsfairy.com/how-to-make-your-own-washi-tape-diy/ but there are many more if you google a bit. The strips come in 4 common washi tape sizes (width 0.3 in, 0.6 in, 0.9 in and 1.18 in). I’ve added separate JPG files too, so you can use the strips in your digital scrapbooking projects.

Available here: Etsy | Scrap Girls

Don’t let your guests go home after the party without offering them something to remember the wonderful time spent together. These charming treat bag toppers will look great on your treat bags, filled with (homemade) cookies or sweets!

Available here: Etsy | Scrap Girls

And here’s a sneak peek for Friday - if you recognize a thing or two, then you are right. This is my part of an old collab called ‘365 New Chances’ that I’ve redesigned and updated with new embellishments and papers…

Have a great day,

Anja

Winter Solstice now at Oscraps

0

Winter Solstice is a digital scrapbooking collection that captures the magic of winter, cold nights and the dark days of December, right before the light and the longer days return. The color scheme is one of contrast: dark and light, cold and warm, from frosty pink to gray, to blank wood and warm orange and brown, and a touch of green. Decorate your layouts with any of the natural elements and birch wood textures, vintage ephemera and stamps, engraved wood slices and some light accents, play with the patterns, inspired by Nordic sweaters, cozy furry blankets and frosty mornings, create titles with the birch wood alpha; use one of the torn paperstrips to add intrest to your page, clip your photos to the frosty photo masks and finish with one of the winter quotes…

Winter Solstice is now available in my shop at Oscraps!

Also available:

As always, you can also grab the alpha, papers and embellishments as separate packs.

Coordinating packs:

All packs are discounted for the next few days, so grab them before they go back to the normal price!

0

I am still making weekly printables for The Graphics Fairy Membership site. If you are subscriber, you get them for free with every new weekly bundle. But if you are not a member, you can still grab them in my Etsy shop, in a slightly altered version. Some of them are also available in my shops at Oscraps and/or Scrap Girls. Check back often to see what’s new!

Here’s an overview of what I’ve been making in the past few weeks:

Coin Envelopes Vol1

With this pack you will get 6 gorgeous printable envelope templates that were created with vintage kraft paper and old newspaper textures. There’s a label on the front where you can write something down, and I’ve also included a paper texture that you can print on the back. Use these cuties for little things that have to be packed, stored, labelled and/or given away: seeds, beads, needles, coins, … You can also use them as gift wrapping for small favors and gifts, this is a great DIY gift idea for men (they are super easy to assemble)!

Grab it in my Etsy shop.

Science Experiment Card

Do you love science? Do you like to experiment? Then you will love these cards that will help you keep track of all your experiments in vintage style. Print the cards on heavy cardstock and keep them in a wood storage box, in the old fashioned way. Or use these cards and the box as part of your Halloween decor!

Grab this in my Etsy shop.

Test Tube Labels

A gorgeous set of printable test tube labels, created with vintage kraft paper. These specimen labels would be perfect for a mad scientist or steampunk laboratory party: fill some test tubes with little sweets and put a label on them. Or, use them for your Halloween decor!

Grab this in my Etsy shop.

Christmas Treat Bag Toppers

The detailed and elegant design of these candy bag or biscuit bag toppers in Edwardian style will make your Christmas favor bags look truly amazing! There are two labels with red stripes, two with green stripes and two with blue stripes. They all have the same vintage typographic text on the back, but I’ve provided a blank version for each label; this will allow you to add a personal message for your loved ones. These treat bag toppers are particularly suitable for pet lovers gifts!

Grab them in my Etsy shop.

Holiday Banner

This beautiful DIY holiday banner with vintage winter greenery and woodland deer images will look stunning on your holiday parties, whether it’s for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year or just for a winter woodland themed birthday party. I’ve provided three different cards and a matching envelope, and insides for the cards and the envelope are also available.

CD Case Calendar Pages

These printable calendar pages with vintage birds will make a great bird lovers gift. They were made for a jewel CD case. The calendars show a different bird every month and I’ve added some information about the bird that is being featured. There is room for a few notes too. Although you can buy CD cases that are made for calendars, it is very easy to make one yourself, using an ordinary CD jewel case - I’ve included instructions in one of the previews.

Once upon a time there lived a wicked goblin …

0

Once upon a time there lived a wicked goblin who built a magic mirror. Anything that was beautiful or good was reflected in it as ugly and bad. One day, the mirror broke and all its pieces fell all over the earth. A few pieces also fell in a small town where two friends named Kay and Gerda lived… So begins the story of The Snow Queen, an original fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). The story centres on the struggle between good and evil and is one of Andersen’s longest and most highly acclaimed stories. The Snow Queen was the source of inspiration for this new digital scrapbooking collection - as a child I was fascinated by this story and I’ve been wanting to make a kit about it for a long time, so here it is!

BIG CONGRATS to Sharon Brogan for winning the entire collection. If you missed the game on our Facebook fanpage, make sure you become a member, here’s the link.

The magic of a landscape beneath a white blanket, the light of a thousand diamonds when the sun touches the snow, frosty leaves and ice cold air, all that beauty of a winter’s day is captured in A Winter’s Tale. A colour scheme of blues, whites, greys, pinks and some silvery accents, a paper made from real reindeer skin, snowflakes that look like they were made of real snow (but that do not melt on your pages), frosted flowers and leaves, gorgeous vintage stamps (some of them come from a 1922’s book of The Snow Queen, with the original Edmund Dulac illustrations), paint, a set of wintery transfers… the perfect embellishments for all your wintery outdoor pictures!

Creative Team member Jana takes you on a winter’s walk through the collection and is sharing a few tips on how to use the transfers in this awesome video:
