Whimsical Challenge

Creative Team member Andrea has set up a new challenge at Oscraps.

Last month we worked on perspective photos. We used photos that were taken from different vantage points. This time, let’s make your background an integral part of your photo – meaning, consider the background of your photo as a secondary subject. Try to have the subject and the background compliment each other… in other words, be aware of the background in your photos PLUS make your photos black and white.

THE CHALLENGE

Last month the challenge was to use at least three pictures on your page.

The challenge for this month is to make a layout with no pictures at all.

Hi there scrappers!

From now on I’ll be hosting my monthly Whimsical Challenges on my blog. I found that it was rather confusing and time consuming to me to host challenges in two different shops and wanted to find a way to do this differently.

I had seen other designers do the same and so I decided to host challenges on my blog… The same rules still apply, the only thing that has changed is that you can post your contribution to whatever gallery you want and then come back here and share the link in a comment.

This isn’t my first challenge, but since this is the first one that I’m hosting here, I decided to start from scratch and call it Whimsical Challenge No1.

THE CHALLENGE

I may be a designer now, but I’m also a scrapper! I have two designers that I still CT for, and I also scrap my personal photobooks. For my CT layouts, I usually put just one picture on a page. But for my personal photobooks I work with multiple photos on my pages… I simply have too many pictures LOL.

So, the challenge for this month is to make a layout with at least three pictures on your page. You can use the same picture, you can use three different pictures, you can even use more than three pictures, whatever you like. There are different ways to make a page with multiple pictures. Here is some random inspiration that I found across the internet:

I’m hoping that the ladies who have made these gorgeous pages won’t mind me sharing their layouts here. I don’t even have their names anymore… These were just layouts that I gathered over the years for my own inspiration, I keep them in themed folders on my computer. Whenever I get stuck in a rut, I go through my inspiration folders and they always get me started.

Whimsical Challenge No3 at The Studio

I was so late posting a new challenge at The Studio… I prolonged Whimsical Challenge No2 because I wanted to let the challenges run equally with The Digichick (from the first of the month to the last of the month). But last week I’ve been job hunting and that has taken up so much time - it ended well, I have been accepted for a parttime job, starting August 8. Then I was so behind with this father’s day themed collection, and while that is no excuse, that explains why I posted Whimsical Challenge No3 only yesterday.

A big congrats to all those that participated in Whimsical Challenge No2 and I’m so sorry you had to wait so long. Discount coupons will be sent out as soon as possible.

For the new challenge the same rules apply as always, one winner will receive a $10 coupon to my store at Digital Scrapbooking Studio, but for the other participants something has changed: they will receive a $5 coupon instead of a 25% discount coupon.

Whimsical Challenge at The Digichick

Challenges at The Digichick have to start on the 1st of the month and end at the last day of the month. And I started a little late with my first Whimsical Challenge there, but as from next month, you will have a whole month to participate! BUT you still have two days to tell me what you favourite TV-show is and why, you will all the information you need in this thread.

There will be a new Whimsical Challenge on Sunday, at The Digichick ànd at The Studio (Whimsical Challenge No2 at The Studio will run until the 15th of May).

I have been planning this for quite some time now and here it is, the very first Whimsical Challenge!

This will be a monthly series where you can win a $10 coupon for my store at Digital Scrapbooking Studio. But guess what, everyone who participates will receive a 25% discount, so basically, everyone who participates will win!

Inspired by my new release ‘A Stroke Of Luck’, a digital scrapbooking collection for Saint-Patrick’s Day, I came up with this idea for Whimsical Challenge No1: think about what makes you so lucky and scrap about it. That’s it.
