Mermaids & Nymphs Printable Tags
A set of 6 gorgeous shabby, vintage and textured mermaid and nymphs tags, created with images from old paintings.
Mermaids are legendary aquatic creatures with the head and upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish. Sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks and drownings… In other traditions they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans. Mermaids have been a popular subject of art and literature and they have subsequently been depicted in operas, paintings, books, films and comics.
Nymphs are a numerous class of lesser deities of mythology, conceived of as beautiful maidens inhabiting the sea, rivers, woods, trees, mountains, meadows, etc., and frequently mentioned as attending a superior deity.
Use these tags in your digital scrapbooking or art journaling layouts, or print them for your hybrid projects, for art journaling, for gift tags and so on. I have included a sheet for easy printing. I’m still just a tiny little bit in vacation mode after our trip to France last week, but I’m getting there. I’m working on a few new commercial use packs for Digital Scrapbooking Studio’s Commercial Use Grab Bag Gala next week (more about that later) and… today is the reveal of Wanderlust, The Studio’s new Coordinated Collection! Have to admit, the colour scheme did not appeal to me at first… not the colours I would have picked. But once I got started, they sort of grew on me and I am very proud at how my part turned out.
Wanderlust will help you document all those wonderful memories and travel stories: the places you’ve seen, the people you’ve met… The muted colour palette of lilacs,greens and neutrals will allow your pictures and stories to shine. The colours will look especially great with pictures of the great outdoors: lavender fields, woods and mountains. Old maps, vintage lavender, handdrawn illustrations and damask were used to create the coordinating patterns. With all the craziness of National Scrapbooking Day, I didn’t find the time to make new things for my stores last week, but this week I have something really special for you!
My husband, Wim, is an artist. He teaches art to children from 6-12. And he coaches teachers in schools to help them teach art to children… He has an upcoming exhibition in September, with the rest of his colleagues, and on Sunday he came home with these breathtakingly beautiful textures that he had created. He had been mixing gesso, bistre and black acryclic paint on plastic sheets. The back of those sheets was painted white with gesso, but was kept somewhat transparent.
And the best thing of it all? He allowed me to scan those textures and make them available through my stores!

Em has combined one of the Acrylic Transitions papers with A Moment Captured, and I think this works so well together! The orange adds a beautiful contrast to the whole layout. Those adorable pictures of her little boy are so cute.
