Not only is Oscraps celebrating it’s 13th birthday but we also have a new Mini O Collection! Inspired by the color scheme, I created an Asian style Mini O collection with a spring theme. Just in time, because in Japan, the cherry blossom trees are blooming now!

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossoms, also known as sakura in Japan, are the small, delicate pink flowers produced by cherry blossom trees. Their life is very short. After their beauty peaks around two weeks, the blossoms start to fall. Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. This collection was inspired by the beauty of Cherry Blossoms and is perfect to enhance your scrapbook pages about spring parties, a trip to Asia, a picnic on a sunny day in spring… The pops of red and fuchsia will make your layouts bloom!

Creative Team Heidi McGregor used the ‘Be A Unicorn’ Junk Journal Kit and word art from the ‘Find Your Inner Sparkle’ collection to create not one, but three junk journals for her nieces. She combined my designs with some other ephemera and a paper scrapbook kit. The result is amazing! Heidi has a wonderful talent for layering things, it’s actually a bit like we do in digital scrapbooking, but Heidi does it with paper bits, lace, fabric, buttons and stitches. I would love to see the look on Heidi’s nieces when they receive their journals 🙂

Layout Inspiration

I created a junk journal kit with papers and embellishments from this collection. Included are 20 printable 8.5 x 11 in sheets in JPG and PDF, designed to make a 5.5 x 8.5 journal:
- 1 cover (can be used as journal page), 7 journal pages and 8 backgrounds (makes 30 pages in total);
- 5 sheets with embellishments such as tabs, flags, triangle pockets, tags, artist trading coins and artist trading cards, 1 in squares, envelopes, labels, paper strips and so on.
