The Sweet Smell Of Summer

0

The sweet fragrance of honeysuckle on a warm summer evening, the smell of freshly cut grass, the distinct ‘earthy’ scent of summer rains… Our senses come alive in the summer. And smells in particular are stronger in warm weather, due to the higher levels of moisture in the air, so smells are carried further. Bumblebee and sugar cookie, pink and fuchsia, pine and grey make a strong and contrasting color scheme in ‘The Sweet Smell Of Summer’, a summery collection inspired by the sweet smells of summer and the nostalgic feelings that they evoke - designed with the new Mini O color scheme!

The Sweet Smell Of Summer Embellishments

32 PNG files: 1 vintage bee, 1 bow, 1 brad, 1 vintage butterfly, 1 button, 4 flowers, 2 vintage flowers (each in a plain and in a sticker version), 2 pieces of foliage, 1 frame, 1 vintage fruit sticker, 1 crochet strawberry, 3 stamps, 1 stitching, 1 wooden tag, 1 twine, 3 pieces of vintage ephemera, 5 word art files.

12 DIY gifts for Father’s Day

0

In just two weeks we celebrate the men in our lives. The best gifts however, do not always come from the store. Creating a homemade gift can be so much fun and will make a unique gift that no one else has. The items in the ‘Father’s Day Ideas’ section in my Etsy shop can help you with that. Here are just a few ideas for your inspiration!

1
Use coin envelopes as gift wrapping for gift coupons. Coupons are always a fun gift idea. Make a coupon booklet filled with great ‘deals’, such as a free car wash from the kids, a free breakfast in bed from mom…

2
Fill the Coin Envelopes with some of dads favorite goodies, or fill them with dad’s favorite sweets or cookies!

3
Does your dad or husband have a man cave (that place where men retreat if they need a break or to have fun with friends)? Surprise him with a print of the Man Cave poster. Print on a canvas, or print on paper and frame it.

Man Cave Sign

4
Decorate your gifts with a beautiful gift tag saying ‘You are my hero’ or ‘You are my number one’ (or one of the other tags). That will make the gift even more special.

Gift Tags Vol.9 ‘Number 1 Dad’

5
Is your dad or husband an avid reader? Surprise him with a new book and a personalized Ex Libris bookplate attached to it. If he often lends out books to family and friends, give him a whole stock of Ex Libris bookplates that he can use to mark his books.

Ex Libris Bookplates

6
Perhaps your dad or husband loves working in the garden… In that case, prepare a ‘Garden Kit’ for him. Print the Garden Planner, where he can keep track of his garden chores. Print and assemble a collection of seed packets so he can stock seeds from the garden, and add an envelope with a bunch of Garden Stock Labels, to allow him to make an inventory of what’s in the garden shed.

Garden Planner | Seed Packets Vol.2 | Garden Stock Labels

7
If your dad or husband is more of a computer man, with an office full of printers, computers, scanners etc you can print and cut out the Cable Labels for him, so he can label all his cords and cables!

Cable Labels

8
Maybe your dad or husband is an amateur photographer? Use the ‘A Moment Captured’ collection to make a photography themed card for him, or a cover for a photography themed journal.

9
If dad is none of the above, create a memory book for him. A memory book from that last trip you made together, or the party you organized for his birthday last year, or a memory book with your families most treasured moments… Memory books are always great gifts, no matter what the occasion. Use themed papers and embellishments.

10
Pick some beautiful papers and make a collection of coasters. He will definitely enjoy using those in his man cave with his friends!

11
Use those papers to wrap little gifts, like treats and snacks, some men’s accessories perhaps (a beautiful tie, a pair of socks, some handkerchiefs) … Put all these little gifts in one big ‘Father’s Day Gift Basket’.

12
Dads deserve to relax at the end of the day. Buy a (scented) candle, print a beautiful paper on vellum and make a wrap around the glass of the candle. The light will shine through and give a nice glow. You can also do this with a collage of pictures!

There is still time to enjoy 40% off all items in the Father’s Day Ideas section in my Etsy shop - but hurry, the sale ends June 7th.

Yes please, I want to check out those Father’s Day Ideas and save 40%

Have fun!

A Steampunk Journal

0

Creative Team member Sheila May created this amazing steampunk journal about a fictional character named Magnus who’s visiting the World Expo in Paris, in 1889.

She used mainly papers and embellishments from the Somewhere In Time collection (including the clock faces!), some papers from Vintage Travel, A Moment Captured Camera Transfers, Steampunk Laboratory Test Tube Labels (all links below) and some things from other designers. I love that wooden cover she made, and that journal could have been a book that you purchase in a store, it all looks amazing!

Here’s where you can find the On A Whimsical Adventure products that she used:

Somewhere In Time Patterned and Artsy Papers can be found here:
Etsy | Oscraps | Scrap Girls

Somewhere In Embellishments can be found here:

Somewhere In Clock Faces can be found here:
Etsy | Oscraps | Scrap Girls

Vintage Travel Papers can be found only in my Etsy shop.

A Moment Captured Camera Transfers are available only in my Etsy shop.

The Steampunk Laboratory Test Tube Labels are available only in my Ety shop.

Sheila also used the same supplies in her amazing ‘Around The World with Nelly Bly’ journal:

Acrylic Transitions Vol.3 and Whimsical Masks Vol.1

0

Acrylic Transitions Vol.3

I have released a new set of Acrylic Transitions ! Hubby made these a while ago but I forgot about them. This new pack has 9 pieces of delicious mixed media art. By mixing gesso, acrylic paint and bistre on a plastic sheet, he created an amazing texture. I scanned them, and I enhanced the color and the texture. Create art, by using these artist papers as backgrounds in your digital scrapbooking, papercraft or art journal projects. Or simply have (some of) these papers printed on a canvas and use as modern wall art! A printable letter size version of each paper is also included, for a jumpstart on your (junk) journals!

Available here: Etsy | Oscraps (soon available at Scrap Girls)

Whimsical Masks Vol.1

Next to that I created a pack of photo masks with torn edges and scratched textures. I was actually going to make a new set of torn frames, but then I got this idea for the masks. My team loves them! Included are 10 layered templates in PSD and PNG format. The size of the masks is based on the following standard photo sizes: 2 x 3 in (5,1 x 7,6 cm) | 3.5 x 8.1 in (9 x 20,5 cm) | 3 x 5 in (7,62 x 12,7 cm) | 4 x 6 in (10,2 x 15,2 cm) | 4.33 x 5.907 in (11 x 15 cm) | 4.5 x 6 in (11,4 x 15,2 cm) | 4.7 x 9.3 in (12 x 23,5 cm) | 5.12 x 5.12 in (13 x 13 cm) | 5.907 x 5.907 in (15 x 15 cm) | 5.907 x 7.873 in (15 x 20 cm).

Available here: Etsy | Oscraps (soon available at Scrap Girls)

Here is some layout inspiration from the team:

This collection is now available in a bundle version ànd in my shops at Scrap Girls.
