A sneak peek of something I made this afternoon: straw flags, with the patterns of the Vintage Tropical Papers I made last week. You can stick them to a plastic straw, but I used small wooden sticks. Use double sided tape to attach. A fun idea for your summer parties! Guests can write their names on the blank label on the front (I used some dummy names here, the label is blank). Check this out! The banner I designed for this year’s Zapparade, and an older design that I made two years ago (the banner with the girl and the violin). Always exciting to see it printed!
I remember when I made the girl with the violin banner… I was asked to design a banner that would represent the ‘spirit’ of Zapparade… Not an easy thing to do. Although I very well knew what Zapparade felt like to me, it was really hard to put an image on it. I remember multiple sleepless nights as the deadline came nearer. Then, one Friday night, I got up at 1 o’clock in the morning (I couldn’t sleep anyway), because I had a head full of ideas for that banner. And yes, that night, the design for the ‘Spirit of Zapparade’ was born LOL. That night I went back to bed at around 5 in the morning, tired, but very happy. I finished the banner the next day 🙂
