Digital Scrapbooking

As you may know, every year I do the artwork for an annual street theater festival in Belgium, called Zapparade. I love it, because I can really go wild with my ideas and I have total freedom.

This year’s Zapparade had Jules Vernes 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea for a theme. And while looking for images to use in my artwork, I found some great vintage mermaid images. I thought there weren’t that many good mermaid kits available and so I decided to make my own. That’s what inspired me to make this Mermaids Collection.

The Mermaids Collection was designed with luscious coral red and ocean green colour tones. It includes a lot of artsy elements as well. If you are looking for a kit to scrap your travel layouts, aquarium visits, underwater scenes or snorkeling photos, then this collection is the perfect fit.

The official opening of my Etsy store!

I’m not opening a store on my own though, but I’m joining forces with Tinne & Joachim of VectoriaDesigns, an established and highly rated shop on Etsy. And I finished the pack of transfers and brushes that I was working on (coordinating with the vintage tropical papers). It’s a set of 5 transfers and 5 brushes. Transfers and brushes are available in PNG format and the brushes are also available as an ABR file.

I’m making some transfers/overlays that coordinate with my Vintage Tropical Paperpack (sorry, cannot help making things with that theme)! This is the first one (I intend to make 5 different designs)! They will come in a pack with brushes (ABR and PNG files) in my Etsy store.

I’m feeling very inspired lately 🙂 and that has resulted in more things for my future Etsy store. Are you ready for some sneak peeks?? I’m ESPECIALLY happy with how the Vintage Tropical Papers turned out! Usually I’m not a big fan of hot temperatures (and it’s really hot in Belgium today). But today, the weather ànd some good music inspired me to make a tropical themed paperpack. I’m thinking of making some coordinating things. What do you think?

One of my (many!) hobbies is digital scrapbooking. Digital scrapbooking is is simply creating a scrapbook layout on the computer with papers and elements that are created digitally using graphic design software. I discovered digital scrapbooking in 2011 and I’m hooked ever since! For me it’s the perfect way of keeping memories and making beautiful books with my pictures. Very time consuming, yes, definitely. But I just love it.

Digital art journaling is a form of digital scrapbooking; you combine art and words to express yourself. It’s not complex, and there really aren’t any rules for art journaling. It’s all about self-expression.

It’s finally here, my copy of Somerset Digital Studio! I have a feature article (three pages, six works) ànd I’m on the cover, together with Belgian illustrator My Dead Poney, whom I really admire for his gorgeous illustrations (see more of his work on http://goo.gl/4xIsXi) - that’s a real honour!
